Finally we have managed to put some video footage on the websight. See the Sight and Sound link on the home page.  Recorded on an old  camcorder, the quality is not so good but, hey!!! If someone would like to bank roll us for a big budget full on production.  Please contact us ASAP.  The songs were recorded at the Yardbirds which was one of the first gigs H did with the band.  Hopefully we will add some more footage from other gigs in the future.

Another success for Watty and the gang at Whitwell. Thanks for inviting us back guys. It's quite a while since we did the first ever rock gig at the community center and last night reminded all of us in the band why we enjoyed playing there so much. First time for H and I know he really enjoyed the gig and chatting with everyone afterwards. Cheers for all the comments and for making him so welcome. I know a lot of you guys have followed the band for some time now and it's fantastic that you all felt and said what a brilliant addition H is to the line up.

Well it was a hot sticky evening outside  but in the hall it was cool - man I mean it was steaming , just like the girl in the song :-)  Thanks to everyone who came and made it such a great night. Your enthusiasm and appreciation lifted the band to another level. At times the roar from the crowd  rivalled the audience on  Live and Dangerous. Absolutely brilliant , thank you all so much.

Until the next time.

Twin Lizzy.

Just a few lines to thank everyone for making last nights gig at the Birdwell so enjoyable.   A very big turn out for such a wet night and a good time was had by all. Cheers to Rus and Mitch, good to see you guys. Thanks to Fred for your  kind words.  Thanks also to Al for his patience with the late night.

A special big thanks to Spence and the boys in the BROWN BOTTLE BAND.  Haven't  met the guys before last night and it was a real pleasure to work with them.  Not only a good bunch a lads but a brilliant band as well.  If you get the chance - go and check them out soon.  An excellent band doing some brilliant versions of great rock classics.  I hope we can work together again soon. All the best lads.

Well the next time out for us is at the YARDBIRDS in Grimsby.  First time for  H  with the band in sunny Grimmo !!! Come and check him out.
Here's looking forward to seeing many a familiar face - Hope the Rockettes are there.   :-)

Saturday night at Crook Town AFC. What a night !!!

After the upset of the previous week - would the show go on ?

Twin Lizzy  along with their mystery Special Guest star arrived early to load in the gear and hopefully have a little time spare to fit in a brief rehearsal. As usual time flew by and before you know it the audience are arriving and it's almost time for the show.  Are we ready guys ?  Confident nods of the head all round and a You bet !

Next it's a darkened room, spotlights scanning and sirens wailing then the mighty crash, the glare of the lights and a shout of ARE YOU READY.

Some of the crowd are already on their feet as up to the mike steps H of Dizzy Lizzy.

As someone once said "The show must go on" - Oh and how !!!

From the word go H was the consummate professional fronting the band with so much confidence and raw energy that the audience found it infectious. In a few short minutes the whole room was rocking. People dancing at the front, people dancing at the back, by the bar and at their tables.

Most of the audience  hadn't seen Twin Lizzy or Dizzy Lizzy before so this was a new experience for them. Thanks for all the kind comments after the show. Especially from the die hard Thin Lizzy fans who remarked on how close the whole show was to their cherished memories of the original.

To those people who had seen Twin Lizzy before thanks for your kind words also. As Terry said to me between sets. " It was a good  before but tonight it was brilliant - you've stepped up to a whole new level". Thanks Terry.

On a personal note I'd like to thank H again for stepping in to help and for doing such a brilliant job. Honestly mate I lost count of the number of times I glanced across at you singing and thought My God ! Phil's on stage. Not only did the show go on but we also enriched the set with a new number " Opium Trail " . Do you know that one H asked before the gig. Yeah we'll give it a go, we said.  Brilliant Mate !

It was a honor to play with such a talented professional  and  gentleman.

After a checking diaries it looks as if H will be playing with Twin Lizzy for several up coming shows. Check the gig list on this site for a show near you. Don't miss it!!!

H on stage.

04.03.10.

On Saturday night after the Hindley gig Roger Dyson announced that he is quitting the band with immediate effect. Twin Lizzy will continue to perform and we have several special guests lined up who will hold the fort until someone steps in on a permanent basis. Unfortunately some gigs may have to be cancelled so please keep an eye on this website for any news of gigs in your area.

Twin Lizzy would like to apologies to everyone, fans and promoters, if this current situation affects your gig.

Please bear with us.

03.03.10

With great regret  we must announce that due to unforeseen circumstances Twin Lizzy will not be appearing at the Roundhouse on Friday 5th March. As far as we know Metaleeka are still on for the gig ( check their website ) and please go along and support the guys. They are a great band and well worth seeing. ST.

07.02.2010.

Welcome back Dave.

Dave "make some  f . . . . . .  noise" Edwards.

Two or three gigs under the belt since the last news update.  We want to thank  Don Threlfall once again for stepping in at the Mosses Gate and the Tackeroo and dong such a good job on the drums while Dave was recovering from his injuries. Thankfully Dave is now OK and rejoined the band for our gig in Sheffield.

Bob's Birthday Bash

Sheffield Friday 29th Jan. Bob's Birthday Bash. What a night !!!  Bob - what can I say? Everyone in the band wants to say a big well done mate. Great party. We are all so glad that you asked us to come and help you celebrate your big day.  We had a fantastic time and Dancing in the moonlight was brilliant.  Bob brought along his sax and joined the band on stage to take the solo and steal the show. See the pics on both the Photo's page and the Fans Galleries page of this website. For those of you that missed it, Bob will be joining Twin Lizzy on stage again on Friday 26th Feb. at The Dusty Miller. Don't miss it.  Bob thanks again and all the very best for the coming year.

The Roadhouse, Stirchley , Birmingham.  Friday 5th Feb. Another splendid evening. Thanks to Tommo for doing a great job with the sound. Angela and Keith it was good to see you again and to meet Sarah. I hope she enjoyed the band and is now a Thin Lizzy fan. To everyone that came to see us thanks for such a roaring reception. Finally thanks to Dee Dee the hostess with the mostest and one of the sexiest ladies on this planet.

Till the next time!

03.01.2010.

HAPPY NEW YEAR     HAPPY NEW YEAR     HAPPY NEW YEAR .

Well it's been a while since this site was updated. That's due to further attacks by gremlins on my PC. Hopefully that's all fixed now and there will be clear sailing in 2010.

The boys in the band would like to thank all of you for your support throughout 2009. Considering the economic climate it's always great to see so many familiar faces making the time and effort to come along and see Twin Lizzy. I hope you all had a very merry Christmas and here's wishing you all the best for the coming year.

On a more sober note, The recent gig at the Tramshed in Shipley was cancelled at he last minute.  Some people have Emailed me asking why we made no announcement on this website.  They were quite rightly annoyed after making the journey over there only to be told that the band had done a NO SHOW.  I can assure everyone who turned out that night that Twin Lizzy did not cancel the show.  Some of us had even made the journey over to Shipley the previous evening and had stayed with friends who live locally.  We were all set to arrive early, to load the gear in and sound check before you all arrived for the gig.  At  about  11.30am. the venue phoned us to say that the council had ordered them to cease putting bands on.  The reason being noise abatement and disturbance to local residents.  I was actually in the cinema at the time with my phone switched off. ( Avatar at the Imax. Brilliant film !!! Go to see it soon.)  Because of this I didn't know that the gig had been pulled until sometime after 2.30pm.  So, away from home and with no way of accessing this website, I'm afraid there was nothing I could do about it.  We had a close call trying to inform the rest of the band and also the Guys in "Bad Appetite" who were travelling up from Leicester to appear with us.  Due to the situation with the local council I realize that the venue had no option but to pull the gig. However it is extremely annoying to learn that when people arrived and asked where the band was, they were not told the facts.  It seems that some people were actually informed by staff that the band had pulled the gig thereby letting you all down. THIS IS NOT THE CASE !!!  If you are a Twin Lizzy supporter and you travelled to  the Tramshed that night, I suggest you mention this the next time you go in and ask for a free pint on the house.

Dear Dave, Get well soon.

Dave "Make some F- - - - - g noise" Edwards was out walking his dog a few days ago. Another dog attacked and during the ensuing fight Dave was bitten quite badly on the hands.  Everyones worst fears were were averted when it was announced that there was no tendon damage. Dave spent a couple of nights in the hospital with some minor sugeory to his fingers. Dave is a brilliant drummer and this could have been a disaster for him. Thank God he's ok!  From all the guys at Twin Lizzy - Get back to us soon Dave.

In the meantime Twin Lizzy are still fullfilling all their commitments. We are fortunate enough to have obtained the services of Don Threlfall from Bad Horsey. Don used to drum with Roger in the Lizzy tribute band Renegade and so luckily for us he was able to step in at very short notice with no rehearsal at all. Dons first gig with us would have been at the Tramshed but that story has already been told. Insead Don took the stage with TL for our gig at the Mosses Gate. It was real "flying by the seat of your pants" stuff with no time to rehearse other than a quick run through a couple of bits and pieces in the sound check. No one need have worried - Don did a fantastic job. I can't big up the guy enough, he did such a brlliant job. Cheers mate.

At the time of writing this it is probable that Don will also be playing with the band for the Tackeroo and Westminster gigs . After hat it's down to Daves recovery time.

27.10.09.

Friday night at the Diamond in Sutton in Ashfield. Bad Appetite went down a storm.
"WELCOME TO THE ROCK SHOW" !!!  Go on Mat give it some :-)
I was sitting at the back and enjoyed seeing the audience reaction to this fine young band.  I predict that these boys are going to be Big Time.  Excellent stuff guys.

By the time TL hit the stage everyone was well up for it.  All the boys in the band had a great time. Steve was over the moon with the guys at the bar chanting "Steevo - Steevo - Steevo". You could tell by the grin on his face that he liked that.  What a fantastic drum solo from Dave.  People who think drum solo's are boring really do need to see "Dave  Make  Some  F- - - - - g  Noise  Edwards".  I really believe that Brian Downey himself would give the thumbs up to our "Monkey Boy". To those of you that have seen Dave in action, ask yourselves - how many Lizzy tributes have you ever seen that have anything even approaching that level of tallent?

The lads would also like to say a very big THANK YOU to Gary and the gang. Your hospitality is second to none. Thanks again. It was great talking to everyone after the show and a nice little party ensued. How many times did a certain guitarist fall off that bar stool ???  At about 5.30 in the am. someone said it was about time to go to bed - probably the most sensible comment that had been made for several hours.

TL love playing at the Diamond. It's a fantastic venue and if you haven't been before, go and try it soon. There are some fine bands on over the coming months so don't miss out.

20.10.09

This Friday 23rd The boys are back at the Diamond again. Lookng forward to seeing everyone there. A bonus this time around - we have a fantastic band called Bad Appetite on with us. These guys are from Liecester and have played with us several times before. A young band playing their own material , they are really excellent and will go a long way, very quickly.  See them first at the Diamond.

Twin Lizzy would like to thank everyone in Shilden for giving us such a great welcome on Saturday night.
First time for us and we will definately be back soon.  What a great crowd.  Really nice seeing you all there and  being made to feel so welcome.  Hi to the twins and we hope you both make it to Darlington this Saturday.

13.10.09.

Hellooooooo !!!

Finally back on line again. My PC. was destroyed by internet pixies and a hard drive troll. When I got it back I had lost all my website files so the news page has been lacking for some time now. Anyhow have to dash off in a minute but will update the Twin Lizzy news page as soon as I can.

All the best,

Steve.

08.07.09

It's been a long time since the last update, I'm afraid we have all been too busy to sort it. Still ! here we are again. So - Last week was a reel hoot. All day tribute festival at The Diamond Club. Proceedings kicked off some time in the early afternoon with everyone up for a rocktastic time. We arrived just after 7.0pm. having been told midweek that instead of going on stage at 7.30pm. we were now last band on at 11.0pm. Oh dear!!! surrounded by booze and still four hours to go. Anyhow  things looked good with Mentallica a really fine Metallica tribute on stage as we got there. They were followed by Z U 2 who put in a very good performance. Next it was my personal favorite of the night, Angel House. Played with these guys before and they always put on a first class show. They play mostly their own material with one or two classics thrown in for good measure. Pete's voice just gets better and better. If you haven't seen them yet - go and check them out soon.

Finally just after 11.0pm Twin Lizzy managed to get on stage. I've got to say  that for people who had been at it all day and all night, the audience response after the first few bars of our first song was nothing less than fantastic. I've said it before but I will say it here again. The audience makes the gig for me. When you guys are up for it, the guys in the band respond instantly and play so much better. The audience at The Diamond last week were great. I remember seeing Roj glance across at me with that twinkle in his eye and I knew right off that we were going to have a storming set. We had to play a shorter set than usual because of the 12.0am curfew. However all the hits were in there and apart from "Still in love" it was strictly full speed ahead and damn the torpedoes. !2 o clock came and went but no one in the room cared and the same went for the boys on stage. With shouts for more ringing in his ears  Gary (the club owner) gave in and said " Sod the curfew, give us another one". We don't need asking twice. Dave kicked into a brilliant double bass drum shuffle and Roj was singing about Mexico. How are you girls getting home tonight??? Finally we left the stage covered in sweat and gasping for beer which after a quick wash and brush up in the dressing room was exactly what we all did. It was really nice to chill out after in the bar. Plenty of people were still there as many were staying over for the night. Christine. If your reading this it was great chatting with you. Hope you come to more shows soon. Charlie. Keep rocking mate. I'll look out for you in Glasgow this Friday. Gary. Thanks again for making us so welcome, as always.

ROCKERS!!! Here we come. All the band and crew are looking forward to Friday in Glasgow. After the last visit we can't wait to come back. What a brilliant club. What a brilliant city. If your reading this and you are going to be there on Friday give us a shout and say hello.

Saturday!!! Back at the Tuns in Gateshead. Another top venue with a great crowd. Looking forward to seeing you all again. I hope the guys from Sabbatica will be in. See you there.

26.04.09

It's now a week or so since we played at Sawyers in Kettering but this is the first chance I've had to update the news page since then. Sawyers is a great venue with freindly staff and a fantastic crowd. Twin Lizzy are booked to play there again later this year. Keep an eye on our gigs page for further news on that.

At the gig we were lucky enough to have a great band on the bill with us. "BACKLINE" are a really tallented young band based in Liecestershire and playing their own material. Everyone in TL enjoyed listening to their set and we also enjoyed working with them. A good bunch of lads. If you like quality rock based material with a modern edge then check them out. www.myspace.com/backlineuk . The best of luck to Backine from everyone in Twin Lizzy and here's hoping we get to work together again soon.

29.03.09

There has been a change of venue on Friday 17th April. Twin Lizzy are now appearing at The Highway, Willerby Road, Willerby, Hull, HU5 5LH. Up until a few days ago we were booked to play at the Springhead. Unfortunately the NEW management there have failed to honor the booking despite assurances to the contrary. THE HIGHWAY is an excellent venue that is now being run by Terry + Pam who used to have the Springhead. We feel much more comfortable with this new arrangement dealing with experienced and dependable people and look forward to seeing you all there.

27.03.09.

THE GASWORKS in Bradford has always been a fantastic venue for Twin Lizzy. Now Max and the gang have moved to bigger and better premises. The new address for THE GASWORKS is 26 - 32 Great Horton Road. Bradford BD7 1AL.  The new Gasworks is bigger and better with a much larger stage, lighting rig and sound system. Twin Lizzy will be there on MAY 9th.  Can't wait to see you all at the new venue.

21.03.09.

Twin Lizzy would like to say  thanks very much to Gill and Malc for inviting us to play for them at their anniversary celebration. It was a fantastic evening with a lot of really nice people and it was a real pleasure to play for you both. May you have many many more happy years ahead.

All the very best from Steve, Roj, Taff, Dave and Tony.

17.03.09.

Ok! all you Lizzy fans - there's a new website just started up it's called The Scott Gorham Fan Page. I've just been on there myself and it's full of all sorts of interesting stuff. Anyone into Thin Lizzy is going to love this site and if you are a particular fan of Scott then it's even more of a buzz. Just go to our Links page and left click to see for yourself. Go on, you know you want to !!!

Meanwhile keep those votes coming in. Inside information is that Roj is definitely NOT happy at the way the voting is going so far. However the rest of the guys are loving it and can't stop laughing every time the subject is mentioned.

16.03.09.

The guys would like to say a BIG thank you to every one who came to see us in Leicester on Saturday. I've said this before but YOU the audience are a very large part of any gig. You guys at the Musician were one of the best audiences we have ever played to. ( That's not forgetting everyone in Glasgow - You are the tops too ).

Saturday got off to a very bad start. The exhaust fell off the van. A two hour lash up repair job followed with Steve T and Tony working under the van and swearing a lot. Then when we got to the gig Taff's amp blew up. More swearing!!! Steve's main amp had gone tits up the previous evening so he was already using the first spare Marshall. This meant that Taff had to use Steve's Second Reserve back up amp. By now LOTS of swearing had occurred and a very subdued sound check followed with NO monitoring coming through on stage. MORE SWEARING.

Then you guys, the audience arrived and after the very first song your response lifted us all back up again.  All the problems were forgotten and a truly fantastic evening of Phil Lynott's music was enjoyed by all - on stage and off stage.

Saturday ended great and everyone in the room including the band went home with  big smiles on their faces. Thanks to you all for that. Hopefully we will be back before too long - sometime in the autumn - so keep an eye on this website for the gigs list and please tell your friends about us. Leicester YOU ROCK !!!

Until the next time.

                        08.03.09.

We would like to thank everyone who turned out to see us at the Queens Hall last night. I hope the birthday celebrations will be remembered for a long time to come. Also many thanks to all the staff and management for making us so welcome. Please don't forget to send us the naughty photo's - wink wink !!! The band are really looking forward to playing there again soon. Great crowd, great stage, great sound, great beer, great set up. Until the next time.

25 .02. 09.

Thanks to Francine who sent in this clipping from the Daily Mail. She thinks the character in the picture looks very familiar. You're right Francine, it's a photo taken of Twin Lizzy's Steve  on the set of a BBC production. Steve  does the occational acting gig now and again. This still is from a program called "English Civil War" in which Steve played Oliver Cromwell. He laughed when he saw this one. It was taken about seven or eight years ago.

19.02.2009

Well here we are well into the new year. Christmas is a fast fading memory and hopfully the pork pies have now stopped repeating. The band had a long rest in January. Steve went on a 14 night tour of the west indies but is now back and looking no more tanned than before he went.

After having a fantastic night at the Tuns in Gateshead we would like to thank David Lunn for sending us the exellent photographs that he took that night - See Photo Gallery. Thanks also for the great review - See Review page. David is with Sabbath Tribute band Sabbatica. Please check out their website  www.sabbatica.co.uk

Well this Saturday see Twin Lizzy over in Lancashire at  The Lane Ends Hotel - Burnley. This is a very friendly venue with some great beers. So if you are in the area, pop along and say hello.

All the band are looking forward to the 27th Feb when we will be making the long journey north of the boarder (for the first time). Rockers in Glasgow is the venue. Should be a really good night. Thanks to Jeanette for pushing us to do this gig. Hope you will be there - give us a shout.

15.11.2008

Twin Lizzy are very happy to announce that we will be doing a double header with the fantastic DC 79. An AC/DC tribute from the north west.
We met the guys at a recent charity festival where we were both on the bill and we thought they were brilliant.
Now we have arranged for both bands to get together again.
This means that fans of AC/DC and Thin Lizzy can combine to have a brilliant rocktastic time recalling two of the all time greats in the history of rock.
So put the date in your diaries!!!
DECEMBER 20th at the BIRDWELL CLUB.
See gig guide on this website for full venue details.
Can't wait.

09.09.2008

The recent gig at the Yardbirds saw Dave Edwards on stage with TWIN LIZZY for the first time. Dave is now drumming with us full time and with just two gigs under his belt has already proved himself to be a great asset to the band. Playing his seven piece double bass drum pearl kit Dave wowed audiences with his skill and energy throughout the set. Rapturous applause greeted his drum solo in Bad Reputation and he also demonstrated his climbing skills taking the salute from above his kit. It's no wonder that one of Dave's drumming hero's is Animal from the Muppets. Well done Dave and welcome aboard.

Thanks go out also to Steve Wright. Steve recently announced his intention to leave the band due to a change in personal circumstances. Steve has done some sterling work with Twin Lizzy and we will all miss him very much. Steve is an excellent drummer and a great guy. All the guys in Twin Lizzy wish him the very best.

Today we have finally put some music on the website. Click SOUNDS on the main menu to go to the download page. Once there click "TWIN LIZZY - Rough n ready"

Because of the constraints of time and money etc. We have been hard pressed to make any decent quality recordings of the band so far. The "Rough n ready" mix that you will hear is from a recent live performance. The recording was taken straight off the mixing desk with no processing what so ever. The problem with this type of recording is that the desk is set up to provide the best possible sound mix for the room on the night. For example if the Hi Hat on the drum kit isn't very loud at the back of the room then we turn it up on the desk until it sounds right - in the room. The bass guitar sound from Roger's rig is very loud and powerful, so we put very little of it through the desk at all. The final mix on the night sounds good "in the room".

This all means that levels on the recording are not set for a very good playback mix. The bass guitar isn't loud enough. the cymbals are too loud, the guitars are not as balanced as they should be, etc. etc.

Despite all of the above we have decided to put out edited samples of some of the songs. We feel that the "rough n ready" mix at least give a flavour of how TWIN LIZZY play live.

As soon as we are able we will put together some decent quality recordings and get them onto the site. We need to do this in order to show TWIN LIZZY in the best possible light and also to pay proper tribute to the fantastic music of PHIL LYNOTT.

19. 02. 08.

"The Springhead" Hull. What a great night! Thanks to everyone who came along and joined in the fun. I'd especially like to thank all of you that have sent us your kind comments via this website. As I have said before - a great gig does not happen because of the band alone. It's down to the audience as well. I know the lads in the band all agree that you guys on Friday were fantastic. The right vibe from the crowd always makes Twin Lizzy play better. Thankyou.

Which brings me to the "Dusty Miller" on Saturday. What can I say? Another crowd full of people who know how to rock! The energy in that place could have powered a small town for 48 hours. Thanks again the Miller Gang and as my friend at the front often says "COME ON" !!!   As for the girl who kept climbing onto the stage - Priceless!  I've never seen Roger look so nervous.  : - )

Here's to the next time.
