Twin Lizzy @ The Dusty Miller
I had seen TWIN LIZZY at this venue before and enjoyed them, but I
realised that this was a day of sport, international football and
rugby; well done Scotland and England, the French must be well fed up
with being beaten by teams from these shores.
I left the rugby at half-time hoping The Miller had a half decent
crowd in. Not a bit of it. The place was packed with people wearing
Thin/Twin Lizzy t-shirts. One lad had a Robert Plant t-shirt but he
did say he had come to the right gig!!
This audience not only knew all the lyrics to the songs, but also
knew the band; banter/patter being exchanged regularly; they had
definitely come for a night of twin Les Pauls, anthemic hard rock
songs, pounding drums, punching bass lines and to remember one of the
most charismatic front men in rock- they got it.
A rousing first half from Roger, vocals/bass; Taff, guitar; Steve,
guitar and new drummer Steve; for more info see www.twinlizzy.com
Right from the start the gig was buzzing, band and audience singing,
stomping and clapping along especially "the coyote howls.."
followed by the entire audience howling. Dedication, Matt an
excellent young guitarist with EXOCET, who play Classic Rock, had a
55 mile round trip.
A short break for refreshments and the band played on, a full set
with all the favourites; Emerald. Still In Love With You, Bad
Reputation,, Boys are Back In Town etc going out in awesome style
with Whiskey In The Jar, not so much audience participation, as
audience take-over.
A great night was had by all concerned, so be there at Bellhouse Road
WMC on 21st December for a TWIN LIZZY Christmas special.
Look out in the New Year for a full LIVE AND DANGEROUS set with
add-ons. TWIN LIZZY are the real deal.
